Ex-Police boss dies of COVID-19

A one-time Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Muhammadu Gambo has reportedly died of complications from COVID-19.

Gambo, who was also a former National Security Adviser (NSA) died of the dreaded Pandemic in the evening of Thursday 21st January at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

the top cop, who was famous for bringing to an end the reign of terror of notorious armed robber, Lawrence Anini to an end, was appointed by former President Ibrahim Babangida in 1986 as Inspector General of the Nigeria Police Force.

He succeeded Etim Inyang while Alh. Aliyu Attah succeeded him in 1990.

He was also appointed as National Security Adviser by ex-President Ibrahim Babangida and was named Minister of Agriculture by the late Head of State, Gen. Sanni Abacha.
