Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, the man who annulled June 12, 1993, presidential election has attributed his conspicuous absence at the posthumous investiture of Moshood Abiola, the man who won the historic election, as Grand Commander of the Federal Republic to ill health.
Babangida who ruled Nigeria from 1985 to 1993 reportedly sent an apology, attributing his inability to attend to health issues.
So also, MKO Abiola’s kinsman former President Olusegun Obasanjo was also among the personalities that were conspicuously absent at the Tuesday posthumous investiture.
The retired Army general also sent an apology citing an engagement outside the country.
