Nigeria’s Dream Team vi has set up a semi-final clash with Germany, courtesy of their 2-0 victory over Denmark in Salvador, Brazil on Saturday in the quarterfinal.
Goals from skipper, John Mikel Obi and Aminu Umar gave the win to the Samson Siasia-led team.
Mikel tapped in a low cross cross from Imoh Ezekiel in the 15th minute of the tie.
Goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel, arguably the man-of-the match, made several point blank saves to keep Nigeria in the lead as the first half winds down.
The Nigerian side renewed their vigour in search of a second goal.
They were however rewarded for their effort as Umar increased the tally through a header.
Nigeria will battle Germany in the semi-finals at the Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo on Wednesday.
Germany dispatched Portugal by 4-0.
