Brigadier-General Mobolaji Johnson, foremost elder statesman and first governor of Lagos State, is dead.
A top official of the Lagos State Government confirmed the news to our this evening.
Mobolaji, who was born on February 9, 1936, died on Wednesday, aged 83.
As Military Governor of Lagos State, he was in office between May
28, 1967 and July 1975, under the military regime of General Yakubu Gowon.
