Veteran politician and a former chairman f the ruling All Progressives’ Congress in Ekiti State, High Chief Olajide Awe, has described the ongoing massive endorsement of the state governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, as unprecedented in Ekiti state’s political history, citing the governor’s all inclusive style of governance as the clincher.
Awe, the pioneer chairman of Action Congress, later Action Congress of Nigeria and later the All Progressives’ Congress in Ekiti State, spoke to National Infinity Magazine in Ado-Ekiti, stated that Gov. Oyebanji’s relationship with past political and economic leaders in the state transcends political leanings and that Oyebanji’s open mindedness and humility have transcended into invaluable political gains.
According to Awe, the current peaceful political atmosphere in Ekiti State is a never seen before situation in the politically volatile state when compared to run up to previous governorship elections in the state.
Chief Awe therefore urged the people of Ekiti State especially the youths to maintain the current peace in the state by not allowing themselves to be used as tools of distabilisation by selfish and evil minded politicians but tap into the various youth friendly policies and programmes of the Oyebanji administration.
