UPDATED: Pastor Adeboye loses son, Dare, family announces burial programme

Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s son, Dare Adeboye, is dead.

The 42-year-old, who was the third child of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Worldwide, died in his sleep on Wednesday in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, where he was based with his family.

Sources in the church confirmed that the deceased, who was the Assistant Pastor in charge of Region (Youth) 35, had ministered the previous day.

He was said to have retired to his bed and did not wake up.

“He was not sick and did not complain of anything before the incident. Pastors in the church were summoned to pray for him, all to no avail,” a source added.

Several leaders of the church, who confirmed the incident, said they could not comment on it.

According to Head of Media and Public Relations, RCCG, Pastor Olaitan Olubiyi, the tragedy happened on Thursday morning.

He said, “It is true. The incident happened in Eket where he was based. I don’t have the details for now. Maybe before the end of today, we will issue a statement.”

Meanwhile, the family of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has announced the burial plans for his son, Dare who died on May 4.

According to the programme shared by Leke, last child of the family and Personal Assistant to the G.O, a special service will be held on Sunday, 9 May, 2021 at the City of David Youth Church in Eket, Akwa Ibom, where Dare pastored.

It will be followed with Thanksgiving Songs and Tribute on Monday, 10 May 2021, at the RCCG House of Favour, Redemption Camp on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The farewell service holds at 10 am on Tuesday, 11 May, 2021 at the Youth Centre, RCCG Redemption Camp.

Dare, married with children, would have been 43 years old in June.
