Yusuf, Buhari’s son breaks limb in ghastly Super Bike accident

Yusuf Buhari, son of President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday night, was involved in a motorbike accident around Gwarimpa area of Abuja.

He was, however, said to be in a stable condition in hospital, following injuries he sustained in the accident.

An online medium had earlier relayed the story on Wednesday, saying Yusuf suffered a head injury and multiple fractures.

The report quoted a family source which said: “Yusuf was trying to overtake his friend when he suddenly veered off the road and skidded. He lay there unconscious for a while before the First Lady was alerted.”

The report further said: “She (First Lady) ordered that he be immediately rushed to Cedarcrest Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.

“We are more concerned about the head injury than the fractures. As I speak to you, Yusuf is unconscious.

“An air ambulance may take him out of the country any moment.”

The Presidency, while confirming the incident, said the president’s son indeed had a bike accident on Tuesday night.

According to a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in Abuja, on Wednesday, Yusuf broke a limb and had a head injury.

The three-paragraph statement read: “Yusuf Buhari had a bike accident last night around Gwarimpa in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

“He broke a limb and had an injury to the head as a result. He has undergone surgery at a clinic in Abuja. He is in a stable condition.

“The president and his wife, Aisha, are thankful to Nigerians for the good wishes and prayers for their son. May God reward you all.”
