The Supreme Court has affirmed the election of Abdullahi Ganduje as the Governor of Kano State. Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abba Kabir Yusuf, filed an appeal at the apex court to dispute the March 24 supplementary election held in some electoral wards in Kano State. In a unanimous judgment delivered by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, the apex court dismissed the appeal filed by Abba Yusuf challenging the election of Governor Ganduje for lacking in merit. The Supreme Court has declared Senator Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressive Congress (APC)winner of the March 19 governorship election in Imo state, the apex court nullified the election of Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The Supreme court on Friday dethroned a first-class monarch in Oyo State, the Eleruwa of Eruwa, Oba Samuel Adegbola. It would be recalled that Adegbola had in 2013 lost a 15-year battle to retain his throne at the Court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan.
