N11.9bn theft allegation rocks Kwara ex-Gov. Abdulfattah Ahmed’s tenure

Abdulfattah Ahmed, former governor of Kwara State came under the klieglight as a forensic audit commissioned by the state government has exposed massive theft of public funds totalling N11.9bn. According to the audit report conducted by SSAC and Professionals, a leading consulting firm not less than N11.9 billion of public funds were carted away from the treasury of Kwara State between 2011 and 2019 without any lawful tie to any project or programme. The Nigeria Police Force early Tuesday morning blocked the Senate President Bukola Saraki’s convoy from moving out of his residence. The Senate president was sent a late invitation on Monday to report at the Guzape Station in Abuja by 8 am on Tuesday. The invitation was in connection with the Offa robbery attack in which 33 persons were killed. The police said leaders of the robbery gang confessed they had a relationship with Saraki.
