Peoples’ Democratic Party’s Presidential flagbearer, Atiku Abubarkar, arrived at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, to receive defecting Kano Central Senator and former governor of the state, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau and his supporters to the PDP. Among those at the airport were former Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido; former Foreign Affairs Minister, Aminu Wali and national chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu.
