The All Progressives Congress in the South West Zone has expressed its profound gratitude to President Mohammadu Buhari and the Party’s National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for their support in ensuring the emergence of Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila as Hon. Speaker of the 9th Assembly.
The party, rising from its zonal caucus meeting held in Lagos on Friday, presided over by the National Vice Chairman, Bankole Oluwajana, also congratulated the President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmed Lawan and his deputy, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.
According to the release signed by the Party’s zonal publicity secretary, Asiwaju Karounwi Oladapo, urged all APC members to forget the acrimony of the past and forge ahead as a united family saying “the south west leadership will not spare anything to ensure unity and cohesion among party members in all the state chapters of APC in the south west region and that party members must subscribe to party discipline and its supremacy.
The party also expressed confidence on the ability of the governors of the zone to come up with workable solutions to the challenges of insecurity confronting the South West and also aligned with the proposed South West Leaders Assembly.
It also hinted that the APC in the South West will soon embark on distribution of membership cards to all its members across the six states of the zone.
