Soldiers, SARS Take-over Orimerunmu CDC inspection venue

The much anticipated atmosphere of peace and conviviality that is needed to prevailed, following the intervention of the Ogun State Ministry of Cooperatives and Community Development, at the inspection of proposed Community Development Councils CDCs to be carved out of Orimerunmu Area Community Development Council, OACDC, is being threatened as the Michael Akinfolarin led executives of the OACDC brought in Soldiers and men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, wearing bullets proof vests, to take over the Orimerunmu Primary School venue of the programme.

Mojeed Alao Sorinola, a director of community development in the Ogun State Ministry of Cooperatives and community Development, had presided over a peace meeting between the two warring parties at the Oke Mosan, Abeokuta to find a lasting solution to the perennial crisis that has engulfed the community since Akinfolarin became the chairman of the CDC.

Part of the resolution reached at the meeting was that all parties to the crisis should ensure today’s inspection programme is conducted in a peaceful atmosphere.

Sources at the venue of programme alleged that key oppositions figures were being fingered for the soldiers and the SARS men with a view to keep an eye on them..

When National Infinity visited the Orimerunmu Primary School venue of the programme, soldiers who came in OP MESA pickup without a plate number were seen fully armed and stationed at strategic places along the SARS men.
