Prolific writer and respected social commentator, Oluseye Arowolo, has joined the editorial board of National Infinity Magazine as a guest columnist.
The column titled ‘Saturday Life Lines’ is a commentary on happenstances in Nigeria’s political scene and national landscape but laced with humour and satire.
Oluseye is a 1985 Set, of Government College Ibadan (GCI), and was the best graduating student from the Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 1997.
He is a Petroleum Technology Development Trust Fund (PTDF) Scholar and obtained his LLM (with Distinction) in Energy Law and Policy in 2004 from the University of Dundee’s prestigious Center for Energy, Petroleum, Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP).
A Legal and Chartered Tax Practitioner with over 18 years’ experience in professional services, at 38years, Oluseye became a Partner in the Tax & Legal Function, Chief Compliance Officer/General Legal Counsel of Deloitte West Africa, a member firm of Deloitte & Touche, the leading professional services Firm that provide audit, tax, consulting, and financial advisory services across a globally connected network of member firms in more than 150 countries to public and private clients spanning multiple industries.
He is a member of the National Tax Policy Implementation Committee (2017 till date) whose work culminates in the promulgation of the Finance Act, 2019 which law made far-reaching significant amendments to Nigeria’s extant tax laws.
A member of the Nigerian Bar Association, Oluseye is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Nigeria (FCTI), as well as a Fellow of the Center for International Legal Studies, Austria.
A well published author with more than 22 publications in international journals on tax and regulatory matters across the different sectors of the Nigerian economy, he was principal editor of the Deloitte InsideTax column for three straight years producing and editing about 156 articles in that period.
Oluseye is a volunteer facilitator with FATE Foundation on taxation and its implications for the Nigerian business environment for their annual scale up programme for Small and Medium entrepreneurs. He represent Deloitte West Africa on the Board of Junior Achievement Nigeria and is a member of Rotary Club of Maryland.
