Police parade second batch of Abuja-Kaduna expressway robbers and kidnappers

The Nigerian Police has arrested the second batch of notorious gang of armed robbers and kidnappers terrorizing the Kaduna- Abuja expressway.

The operation, according to a release made available to National Infinity, was a joint effort of the operatives of the Police Mobile Force, Special Anti Robbery Squad, Anti Kidnapping Unit and the Inspector General of Police’ Intelligence Response Unit all deployed by the IGP, Ibrahim Idris to combat the menace of incessant robbery and Kidnapping on the Abuja-Kaduna expressway.

Items recovered from the dare devil gang include an AK47 Rifle, locally made pistols with ammunitions, and Nigerian Army uniforms.

The operation that led to the arrest of the second batch was a follow-up on intelligence collated from the arrest of 14 members of the notorious gang by the Abbay Kyari led IGP’s Intelligence Response Squad.

IRT Operatives Stormed Gwagwada, Kangimi and Katari Villages in Kaduna State and arrested the suspected Kidnappers namely; Shuaibu Ibrahim aka Kadi 29yrs native of Kangimi village Kaduna State, Alhaji Ibrahim Gurgu 45yrs Native of Gwagwada village Kaduna, Alhaji Abdulazeez Idris 40yrs native of Kankara LGA Katsina State, Ibrahim Isiyaku 30yrs native of Gwagwada village Kaduna State, Usman Datti 30yrs native of Gwagwada village Kaduna, Kabiru Musa 27yrs Native of Dandume LGA Katsina and Haruna Umar 24yrs native of Dandume LGA Katsina State.

The suspects were Arrested between 8th and 9th of July in Kangimi, Gwagwada and Katari villages Respectively in Kaduna State.

The suspects confessed to Several Kidnappings of Motorist and Passengers, Armed Robbery and Cattle Rustling along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway and they are currently assisting the Police to arrest the remaining fleeing gang members and recover more operational weapons.
