The Nigeria Police’s Intelligence Response Team has announced the arrest of the dare devil gang of kidnappers and armed robbers who masterminded and carried out the kidnapping of the mother of Kogi states’s governor and other robberies and kidnapping in Abuja, Niger and Kogi axis.
According to a release made available to National Infinity, the ACP Abba Kyari led special team swoop on the criminals based on information collated from an earlier arrested notorious gang leader; Danladi Ibrahim also known as Upayi.
Upayi was said to have made useful confessions to interrogators on several cases of armed robberies and kidnapping cutting across Niger and Kogi States as well as Abuja including the kidnapping of the mother of Kogi states’s governor in Okene, Kogi State.
Others arrested were; Hon. Iliyasu Suleiman age 44 years a former Councillor in Okene and gang leader who brought the job for the Governor’s Mother Kidnapping, Hafiz Yakubu 26yrs native of Okene Kogi State, Iliyasu Obadaki aka Doctor age 35, Alhaji Nasiru 43yrs Native of Inike Village Okene LGA of Kogi State and Danladi Ibrahim aka Ubayi/senate 26yrs who was arrested earlier by IRT in Suleija Abuja while a member of the gang, Mohd Jamiu aka Bomboy was killed during gun battle with SARS Kogi state earlier last month.
The suspects confessed to executing the 2015 kidnapping of the Kogi governor’s mother and other cases of high profile robberies.
