Major General Adeniyi Oyebade, the 28th Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) and one time General Officer Commanding of 1 Mechanised Division of Nigerian Army, Kaduna, has retired from the Nigerian Army.The respected senior army officer was honoured with a colourful pull out parade which was attended by high ranking retired and serving military officers, captains of industry, the academia, officers, staff and cadets of the NDA community. Speaking during the pulling out parade held at the NDA parade ground Afaka, Major General Oyebade attributed his success to God Almighty. He gave thanks to God for giving him the privilege of ending his military career as a two star General in the same location where it all started. He stated that it has been an honour to serve as the 28th Commandant of NDA and be entrusted with over 2000 cadets, adding that it would always remain an indelible memory for him to be involved in shaping the career of young men and women who will later turn out to be the future leaders of the Armed Forces. Continuing, he described his tenure as challenging yet gratifying owing to his achievements such as infrastructural development, empowerment of soldiers and officers wives, staff welfare, human capacity building and a robust curriculum.
