Popular publisher of the international daily devotional, Our Daily Manna, ODM, Bishop (Dr.) Chris Kwakpovwe narrowly escaped death recently during a night vigil in his ultra – modern auditorium, when five gun men apparently on an assassination mission, visited the auditorium. The police are investigating the matter.
At the end of the siege, a car belonging to the Bishop’s son was vandalized by the assailants who kept asking: “Where is the G.O?” Since last year, Dr. Chris has allegedly been on the receiving end of impersonators and blackmailers in the media and the internet, who take advantage of the liberality of the social media to extort, embarrass and sabotage his public image, because he refused to succumb to their outrageous ransom.
They have, therefore, held him hostage through sustained blackmail and moral terror in an attempt to disrupt the ODM World Anointing Night coming up on Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Tafawa Balewa square, Lagos from 7pm till dawn. Last year, also, the printer of ODM was shot dead
Late last year, a prominent national daily newspaper, in Nigeria reported that the publisher, Bishop Kwakpowe, was assassinated at his home by unknown gun men. His full name was printed in the controversial publication.
This caused panic and tears across the Nigeria nation, especially among ardent readers and beneficiaries of the life-changing devotional booklet, Our DailyManna (ODM) Worldwide, but findings later show that Dr. Chris was alive and well.
According to the publicist of the ODM publisher, the public should disregard any post on the internet by a faceless group which casts aspersions on the integrity of the Bishop. Some distractors who plagiarized the ODM even placed a paid advertorial in one of the dailies, which is now being circulated in the internet as a news item purportedly carried by Vanguard newspaper.
Dr Chris urged his teeming members and followers worldwide to disregard the actions of these satanic elements, adding that there’s no truth in these media publications as they are meant to create confusion and frustrate the anointing service.
It was further alleged that one “Pastor Adedeji and one Mr. Omole” asked him to drop a ransom N5m in a particular unmarked account or risk internet publications. He was told that they are a syndicate d group of professionals and they cannot be stopped because even the security agencies are amongst them.
Dr Chris discovered the ODM vision 14 years ago on the day he bought a rope and wanted to commit suicide due to life’s battles. At that time, PASTOR ADEBOYE and the PFN were some of the FATHERS he ran to for cover and there are letters from Pastor Adeboye and the PFN concerning all that Dr. Chris passed through at that time.
He believes that nobody is perfect and failure is the raw material for fortune while a knock down is not a knock out, as a down fall is not the end of any story unless you fail to get up from the dust of failure.
