Oba Sijuade was buried beside the immediate past Ooni, Oba Martins Tadeniawo Adesoji Aderemi inside a mausoleum built for Oba Aderemi in the Palace because as at the time Oba Aderemi joined his ancestor, the Ile Nla, the cemetery inside the palace, where previous Ooni’s were interred was already full and for the fact that a befitting burial site was needed for a king of Oba Aderemi’s calibre.
A Palace guide told www.infinitylive.com.ng that the late Oba Sijuade gave certain instruction about the upkeep of the mausoleum’s environment some few days before he made the London trip from where he never returned.
The mausoleum is said to be located at the rear end of the palace.
