Ibadan company shut after 30 workers test positive to COVID-19

The Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force, on Saturday, announced that the COVID-19 confirmation tests for 31 suspected cases came back positive.

Thirty of the newly confirmed cases were said to be members of staff of an organisation based in Ibadan South West Local Government Area of the state.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, who doubles as the Chairman of the state COVID-19 task force although did not mention the name of the said organisation, he wrote on his Twitter handle that the affected company had been shut down.

He disclosed that the company would be decontaminated in a bid to prevent further spread of the virus in the state.

The governor wrote, “The COVID-19 confirmation tests for 31 suspected cases came back positive. Thirty of these cases are members of staff of the same organisation based in Ibadan South West Local Government Area.

“The organisation has been shut down and will be decontaminated.
