How I Escaped OGD’s Hammer – Alake of Egbaland, Mobilises Support For Gov. Amosun

Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Okukenu IV has revealed that he has been vindicated over what the past administration in the state wanted to dethrone him.

The monarch disclosed that all the advice he gave to the former governor of the state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, who then threatened to dethrone him are what the incumbent governor is doing.

Alake stated this on Friday at Owode in Obafemi/Owode local government area of the state while addressing a mammoth crowd during the governor’s assessment tour of the area.

It would be recalled that former governor, Gbenga Daniel had a face-off with the monarch in 2008 over the Alake’s comment advising the governor to intensify efforts in repairing major roads in the city. The advise resulted in a serious crisis between the monarch and the governor.

Daniel, then threatened to depose the monarch and banish him from the town. It took the intervention of many people within and outside the state, who pleaded with the governor not to carry out his threat then.

The monarch however thanked God for sparing his life to witness rapid development across the length and breadth of Egba, claiming that God has vindicated him on the matter.

He therefore called on the people to ensure that they massively come out to return the incumbent governor, Ibikunle Amosun to office, so as to complete the good works he is doing.

“My people in Egbaland, we have all seen it, the government that is good, you know him, the one that is not doing
well, and you know them. It is you that will use your vote to let the one that is doing good to continue the good work and never again in our life, shall we allow some disgruntled elements to govern us again this state.

“Our governor is a good governor; we should give him the support to return to office, he is doing well for us in Egba and the state at large. We are all living witnesses to the good development we are seeing today in the state. These are what we told someone before him and he was threatening to dethrone me, can you now see for yourself, I am now vindicated. All the roads I advised them then to do, just the potholes within the city of Abeokuta, now see what all the roads have turned to.

“This governor is a loving, respectable, humble and listening governor. He has done a lot for us in the area of health, education, agriculture and infrastructural development that is why many industries are now springing up in the state, and this will create job opportunities for our teeming youths. Security is now fully restored to the state, we can now sleep with our eyes closed. We thank you so much and pray that God will continue to be with you and your desire shall be met by God’s grace,” Alake prayed.

Leaders from all the 12 wards in Obafemi/Owode local government area of the state also endorsed the governor for a second term bid, promising to work for his success during the 2015 governorship election.

Hon.
