How Epe Popular Prince, Aremo Azeez Adewale And APC LG Chairmanship Candidate, Muiz Bello Died In Election Day Boat Tragedy

azeez adewaleThe first son of Olu of Epe, Oba Sefiu Adewale, Aremo Azeez Adekunle Adewale and a local government chairmanship candidate of the of All Progressives Congress (APC) Mr Muiz Bello, died yesterday when their boat capsized the lagoon in Epe Local Government Area of Lagos.
Aremo Adewale, heir apparent to the throne, was until his death a director in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, while Bello, a lawyer was APC Chairmanship aspirant in Epe. He was former Secretary to the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSMPWB).
The duo were said to be returning from a riverine area in Epe where they had gone on election monitoring duties before the unfortunate incident occurred yesterday afternoon.
Momentarily, the news put a stop to electoral activities in the area as people rushed to the palace of Olu of Epe to sympathize with the briefed monarch.
Adewale was recently promoted to a Director in the Ministry of Local Government Affairs and Chieftaincy Affairs and is a close friend of Lagos APC Gubernatorial flag bearer, Akinwunmi Ambode
Bello, a lawyer also lost his Personal Assistant in the incident.
The lawyer’s wife, who was with them, survived the incident; she is recuperating at the General Hospital in Epe.
According to the immediate past Secretary to Eredo Local Council Development Area, Shamsideen Adeniyi, the remains of Aremo Adewale and Bello have been recovered from the lagoon.
Adeniyi said efforts were on to recover Bello’s Personal Assistant’s remains and others that lost their lives.
Meanwhile the remains of Aremo Adewale have been interred according to Islamic rites at his house in Isasi, Epe.
