Gov. Ahmed returns to PDP

Afer days of speculations, Kwara State governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, has announced his defection from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The governors return to PDP was contained in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Dr. Muyideen Akorede.

IN 2014, the governor alongside his political godfather, Sen. Bukola Saraki had decamped from the then ruling PDP to the then opposition APC.

The statement reads: “Following due consultations with the people and in response to calls by major stakeholder groups in the state, Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed today defected to the People’s Democratic Party(PDP), having realized that the All Progressive Congress (APC) can no longer serve as a platform for achieving the aspirations and expectations of his people.”
