Tragedy has hit Aseese community as a man and his pregnant wife were found dead in their apartment at Triumph Estate by Powerline, Aseese under Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The couple were found decaying today April 4, 2020 after their co-tenant raised an alert over a bad smell emanating from their flat at about 6pm.
According to the co-tenant, he had perceived the bad smell since midnight yesterday April 3, 2020 but thought it was a dead rat. “It was when the smell became unbearable that I informed neighbours about it”, he said.
Nobody could go near the apartment until police officers from Ibafo police station came at about 8pm today before one of the windows was forced opened and the couple were found decaying on the floor of their living room.
The identity of the deceased couple is yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing this report but co-tenant said they were Ghanaians who came into the apartment a few months ago.
The bodies are yet to be evacuated as at the time of filing this report as the police officers who came to the scene only took photos and requested the co-tenant to report to their station before 7am the following day.
