Oni, who stated his resolved while fielding questions from journalists on his rumoured 2018 governorship ambition at the court premises, added: “I have said it clearly that I am going to contest. I will declare on Monday, July 17, because people have been calling on me and clamouring, so it is no longer a secret.
“If I do not heed the call, it will look as if I don’t appreciate what people feel, so you should be grateful to God when you are appreciated, you should be grateful.”
Oni, after meeting with the wives of the accused persons and defence lawyers before leaving the court premises, said he was in court to show solidarity with them and
give them a psychological boost.
“I am here to give solidarity and moral support to our people and to have a first-hand observation of what is going on.
“It is good to lift their spirit and that is why I am here, because when you go through challenges like this, it can wear you out psychologically.
