BRECAN organises free cancer screening, marks 20th anniversary

The Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN) has announced the celebration of its 20th anniversary and the 3rd international symposium of the association coming up on the 18th to the 21st of October 2017 with the theme: “Prioritizing breast cancer survival in Nigeria”

According to a statement signed by BRECAN PRO, Lilian Adesonkan, the opening ceremony takes place on the 18th of October 2017 at the Dome, Akure, Ondo State.

“Attendance of the opening ceremony is free and open to the general public. There will be free health, breast screenings and consulting for interested participants.

To participate in the International Conference/Symposium registration is compulsory and interested participants can register at www.brecan.org

Some of the objectives of the symposium are to provide a platform for international and local breast cancer experts and stakeholders to present and discuss most recent trends, practice, concerns as well as challenges encountered and solutions in all aspects of breast cancer care and also to celebrates breast cancer awareness month and introduce the Ondo state comprehensive cancer centre initiative. Participants will visit tourist attractions in Ondo state.

International and local speakers are Kristen Isabel, Radio Oncologist at the International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna Austria and Professor Friday Okonofua, Vice Chancellor of Ondo State University of Medical Science among others.
Online registration closes @ 23:59 (GMT), Sunday, October 15th, 2017, however, there is provision for ‘’on site’’ registration which attracts extra charges at the venue of the conference.
