Armed soldiers storm OACDC meeting

The much-needed peace continued to elude Orimerunmu Area Community Development Council as the former chairman, Michael Akinfolarin stormed the venue of a peace meeting aimed to chart a way forward for the community with five soldiers bearing arms and ammunition.

The meeting was a follow to an earlier one held last week Saturday in the house of Pastor Olawale, a former protem chairman of the body where the foundation for a peaceful resolution of the protracted crisis rocking the community was laid.

Although Olawale and Akinfolarin were absent at the first meeting, they showed up at the second one held in the house of Pa Titus Olusanya, a community leader.

Sources at the meeting, told National Infinity, that pandemonium broke out when the former chairman of the OACDC, Akinfolarin came into the meeting accompanied by five armed soldiers who took strategic positions at the venue with two on standby in a Honda CRV with registration number KJA 244 BP.

Three of the soldiers, who could not be identified because two of them had their name tags removed from their camouflaged uniforms while the third on wore a cardigan to cover his own manned strategic positions inside Titus Olusanya’s compound.

Another source, who observed the scenario told National Infinity that “it was difficult for us to know, who they really are because there is no name tag of numbers on their uniforms. So we don’t know if they are real soldiers of thugs in army uniforms.

“But as an indication that they came for a hatchet job, they called some of the boys around that place asking them where to buy indian hemp to smoke” he concluded.

It was the second time, Akinfolarin will be bringing soldiers into community related issues. On April 27, 2019, at a congregation of all CDAs in Orimerunmu for inspection by the Ministry of cooperatives and community development, he brought in soldiers to intimidate his perceived opponents.
