Alhaja Saratu Aregbesola, mother of the Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, died in the early hours this morning.
Though, there is no official statement from the government yet, the remains of the deceased will be buried in Ilesa today in accordance with Islamic rites.
Popularly known as Iya-olobi during her lifetime, late Alhaja Saratu Aregbesola was a renowned business woman and a major kolanut merchant’ The Osun state governor was away in Kebbi State where he was attending the Progressives Governors’ Forum meeting.
She was seen last in public on the eve of Ogbeni Aregbesola’s 60th birthday in May this year and she was reported to have poured blessings on Aregbesola.
