Mbaise man rapes mother, says “I was under the influence of alcohol”

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Imo State Command, has arrested one Paul Ihuaku for allegedly raping his mother. The 45-year-old accused hails from Umueke Ezagbogu in the Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State. Briefing journalists on Thursday, the state Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Raji Ibrahim, said the suspect was arrested by the operatives of the corps following a tip-off. Ten political parties in Zamfara State have dissociated themselves from a court action challenging the election of Governor Bello Matawalle said to have been instituted on their behalf by the All Peoples Party. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the governorship candidate of APP in the election, Alhaji Zayyanu Haske, had filed a case at the Zamfara Governorship Elections Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abuja.
