The Kwara State government has refuted a report by an online medium, ‘The Point’ that 700 teachers that were recruited into the State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) in 2014 without approval have been laid off. Again, gunmen storm Isheri North, kidnaps residents’ association’s secretary

Three persons were killed and two injured early yesterday when gunmen invaded an estate in Isheri North of Lagos State and kidnapped the residents’ association’s secretary, Dr Dayo Adekoya. Adekoya was snatched on Road 18, off Olusegun Tawoju Avenue after the gunmen broke into his house. They scaled the electrified fence into the compound, smashed windows and walls when they could not break through his armoured door, to get him. A public servant surrendered N1.25bn loot – EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has recovered N1.25 billion from a public servant, it was learnt yesterday. Although it did not give further details on the recovery, the EFCC gave a breakdown of other recoveries it made last year in a document submitted to the National Assembly.
